For this reason, in 2014 the Wellness Valley Consortium was established: a specialized tour operator that creates and sells Wellness vacations in Romagna and aims to promote Wellness tourism in the Wellness Valley by networking carefully selected hotels, beaches and tourism businesses to guarantee high standards of hospitality and customer service.
The certified hotels and beaches thus become part of unique holiday offerings that combine the extraordinary historical, artistic and cultural heritage of Romagna with selected trek & bike routes, thermal resorts, gastronomic excellence, quality events and personal training services that allow the tourist to live an authentic Wellness experience.
With its 90 kilometres of coastline and an hinterland rich in vegetation and biodiversity, 15 parks and nature reserves, 9 Unesco monuments and dozens of old villages, fortresses and castles, the Wellness Valley offers an exceptional variety of natural and human scenarios to discover and experience in movement, by bike or on foot, thanks to guided tours suitable for all fitness levels and led by professionals and trainers.
International sporting events such as the Gran Fondo Nove Colli and Ironman Italy Emilia-Romagna, further contribute to make Romagna the best destination for active life lovers and sports enthusiasts.
Following the reform of the regional tourist system approved by the Emilia-Romagna Region in 2016, the Wellness Valley has become the unique brand for the promotion of the territory. The added value for tourism in Romagna thanks to the the Wellness Valley brand is about 200 million euros per year.
The criteria defined for the Wellness certification of the facilities are aimed at guaranteeing high quality standards and appropriate services targeted to customers interested in wellness.
